Resume and Bio
Amanda Trusty (she/they) is a performing artist who embodies the very definition of a “triple threat”. A musician, a dancer, and a comedic actress, Trusty has captivated audiences in regional theatres and jazz venues across the country - including Hawai’i. As a tap dancer, Trusty has performed features with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, “sat in” with rock and jazz bands, and also performs a comedy act called “Tap-Up” where she improvises audience suggestions throughout her stand-up routine. As a musical theatre presence, her favorite moments in the woods include playing Sister Miller in Damn Yankees featuring Tony-Award winner Andre de Shields (Engeman); Josie Cohan in George M! alongside Broadway’s Jim Walton and John Scherer (Westchester Broadway); multiple productions of Les Miserables; Donna Sheridan in Mamma Mia!; Mrs. Wormwood in Matilda the Musical; and two very special Sondheim tributes - Young Phyllis in Follies (EPAC 50th Anniversary) and the Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods (Aloha Theatre). Education: Shenandoah University, American Musical and Dramatic Academy. When Trusty is not on stage, she offers innovative training for her students at Trusty Tap & Vocal, choreographs musicals, and serves on the roster for Impact Dance Adjudicators.
